Ranveer Allahbadia Controversy: Rakhi Sawant Defends YouTuber Despite His Offensive Comment
After Ranveer Allahbadia’s controversial remark on India’s Got Latent sparked outrage across the country, actress Rakhi Sawant has stepped in to defend the YouTuber.
Ranveer Allahbadia Faces Backlash
Ranveer Allahbadia, also known as BeerBiceps, has landed in hot water for making an inappropriate comment on comedian Samay Raina’s show, India’s Got Latent. His statement, which involved a disturbing question about parents’ private life, received severe criticism from the audience. Many people have raised concerns about the kind of content being allowed on online platforms and OTT services.
Rakhi Sawant Defends Ranveer
In a surprising move, Rakhi Sawant has come forward in support of Ranveer. She commented, “Forgive him, yaar. Sometimes mistakes happen, forgive him. I know he did wrong, but forgive him.” While most people condemned Ranveer for his vulgar comment, Rakhi is among the few who have defended him. Notably, she has previously been part of India’s Got Latent as a panelist alongside Samay Raina and others.
What Did Ranveer Say?
The controversy started when Ranveer asked a contestant a highly inappropriate question:
“Would you rather watch your parents have sex for the rest of your life, or would you join in once and stop it forever?”
This shocking question left the live audience and fellow panelists stunned. It quickly led to public outrage, and activist Rahul Easwar even filed an FIR against Ranveer with the Mumbai Commissioner and Maharashtra Women’s Commission.
Legal Action & Industry Reaction
Apart from Ranveer, the FIR also includes Samay Raina, the show’s organizers, and influencer Apoorva Makhija (The Rebel Kid), who was on the panel.
Following the backlash, the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has instructed YouTube to take down the controversial video. NHRC member Priyank Kanoongo formally requested the platform to remove the “obscene and vulgar” content featuring Ranveer.
Additionally, the All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) has announced strict action against Ranveer, Samay Raina, and India’s Got Latent. AICWA has called for a complete ban on the show, stating they will not support “disgraceful content.”
