Ranveer Allahbadia Responds to Death Threats Amid India’s Got Latent Controversy

Podcaster and influencer Ranveer Allahbadia has spoken out after receiving death threats and facing legal trouble over his comments on India’s Got Latent. He assured that he is cooperating with the authorities and shared his fears about his and his family’s safety.

Ranveer Allahbadia Goes Unreachable

On February 14, the Mumbai and Guwahati Police visited Ranveer’s home in Mumbai to record his statement. However, they couldn’t find him, and multiple reports claimed that he was unreachable.

The next day, on February 15, Ranveer addressed the situation on Instagram. He stated, “My team and I are cooperating with the police and all other authorities. I will follow due process and be available to all agencies.”

Ranveer Apologizes But Fears for His Life

Ranveer admitted that his comment on the show was insensitive and disrespectful. He took full responsibility for it and apologized. However, he revealed that he has been receiving death threats. “They want to kill me and hurt my family,” he wrote.

He also shared a shocking incident where people making these threats invaded his mother’s clinic. They posed as patients to intimidate his family. “I’m feeling scared, and I don’t know what to do,” he confessed.

Despite this, Ranveer assured everyone that he was not trying to escape the authorities. He said he had full faith in India’s judicial system and believed he would get justice.

Why Is Ranveer in Trouble?

Ranveer is facing legal action for making an obscene and offensive remark on India’s Got Latent. The controversial moment happened in a now-deleted episode where he asked a contestant an inappropriate question. His comment sparked massive outrage from the media, government authorities, and the public.

Even after Ranveer issued a public apology, the legal charges against him were not dropped.

Show’s Creator Deletes All Episodes

Due to the escalating controversy, Samay Raina, the creator of India’s Got Latent, decided to delete all episodes from his YouTube channel. Meanwhile, the police have already recorded statements from Apoorva Mukhija and Ashish Chanchlani, who were also part of the controversial episode.
