Supreme Court Allows Ranveer Allahbadia to Resume Podcast With Conditions
YouTuber and podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia, also known as BeerBiceps, has finally received relief in the India’s Got Latent controversy. The Supreme Court, which had earlier banned him from airing his podcast, The Ranveer Show, has now allowed him to continue. However, the court has set a condition—his podcast must maintain morality and decency, making it suitable for all age groups.
Why Was Ranveer Allahbadia Banned?
Ranveer got into trouble due to controversial remarks made on a now-deleted episode of India’s Got Latent. Following public backlash, multiple FIRs were filed against him in Maharashtra, Rajasthan, and Assam. On February 18, the Supreme Court granted him protection from arrest but also stopped him from airing any content.
Supreme Court’s Decision
Ranveer Allahbadia approached the Supreme Court, arguing that his podcast is his livelihood and supports 280 employees. Taking this into account, the court ruled in his favor.
The court stated:
“He is saying there are multiple employees, so there are families whose livelihood is in question. Subject to maintaining morality and decency, if he wants to run a program, we can say he can.”
Before resuming his podcast, Ranveer must submit an undertaking to follow these standards.
What’s Next for The Ranveer Show?
With this ruling, The Ranveer Show is set to return, bringing relief to Ranveer, his team, and his audience. Many social media users supported him, with one saying,
“Ranveer Allahbadia’s show had no indecency. It was Samay Raina’s India’s Got Latent show.”
Meanwhile, in the India’s Got Latent case, host Samay Raina has not yet appeared before the authorities to record his statement. However, all other content creators involved in the case—Ashish Chanchlani, Apoorva Mukhija, Jasprit Singh, and Ranveer Allahbadia—have already appeared before the Maharashtra Cyber Cell.
