Rupali Ganguly’s Stepdaughter Esha Verma Slams Actress for Court Date on Her Birthday
Actress Rupali Ganguly, known for her role in Anupamaa, is caught in a legal battle with her stepdaughter, Esha Verma. Their ongoing dispute took another turn when Esha lashed out at Rupali on social media, accusing her of scheduling their next court hearing on her birthday.
Esha Verma’s Social Media Post
On February 12, Esha took to Instagram to express her anger. Though she didn’t tag Rupali Ganguly directly, she referred to her as the “evil step lady.”
Esha wrote:
“Thank you to the evil step lady for scheduling the next court date on my birthday, muah! : So generous. Oh, and hi—thanks for monitoring me & violating social media policies for the last four months.”*
The Ongoing Legal Battle
For those who don’t know, Rupali Ganguly had filed a defamation case against Esha after the latter made serious allegations against her. Rupali’s lawyer, Sana Raees Khan, recently confirmed that the court has granted them interim relief, preventing false and defamatory content from being spread online.
According to Sana, Rupali Ganguly is not open to a settlement or a private discussion with Esha regarding this matter.
What Led to This Dispute?
This controversy started when an old post by Esha went viral on X (formerly Twitter). Following this, Ashwin Verma (Esha’s father and Rupali’s husband) defended Rupali, further escalating the situation.
Esha has accused Rupali of:
- Stealing her late mother’s jewelry
- Physically abusing her
- Leaving her with emotional trauma
She even posted videos on Instagram claiming she felt unsafe around both Rupali and Ashwin.
Additionally, Esha has accused her father of abusive behavior and alleged that Rupali was having an affair with him before marriage.
Rupali Ganguly’s Rs 50 Crore Defamation Lawsuit
On November 11, 2024, Rupali Ganguly filed a Rs 50 crore defamation lawsuit against Esha, claiming that her allegations have damaged her reputation.
The case continues, and it looks like the battle between the two is far from over.
