Samay Raina Shares Emotional Statement Amid India’s Got Latent Controversy: “My Mental State Is Not Well”
Comedian Samay Raina has finally spoken out about the controversy surrounding his show India’s Got Latent. After being summoned three times by the Maharashtra Cyber Cell, he appeared before the authorities on March 24 and expressed deep regret for the remarks made on his show. He also revealed how this entire controversy has affected his mental health.
In an official statement, as reported by News 18, Samay admitted that his comments on the show were made in the heat of the moment and were not intentional. He said, “I feel deep regret for what I said. It happened in the flow of the show, and I had no intention of saying it.” Acknowledging his mistake, he added, “I realize that what I said was wrong.”
Samay also assured the authorities that he would be more careful in the future to avoid such incidents. According to an IANS report, he stated, “I will be careful next time so this doesn’t happen again. My mental state is not well due to this case. My Canada tour also did not go well. I am sorry for what I said; I know it was wrong.”
The controversy has not only affected Samay personally but has also impacted the professional lives of those associated with the show. Due to the ongoing issue, Samay had to delay his India tour, which was supposed to happen soon. On March 20, he shared on his Instagram story that his shows had been rescheduled. Even though tickets were completely sold out in advance, he assured fans that they would receive full refunds.
Initially, Samay had requested the authorities to record his statement via video conferencing after failing to appear on March 19, but his request was denied. He was then asked to be present in person on March 24.
Following the order, Samay reached the Maharashtra Cyber Cell office in Navi Mumbai on the morning of March 24 to record his statement regarding the India’s Got Latent controversy.
