Samay Raina & Ranveer Allahbadia Appear Before Maharashtra Cyber Cell Amid Controversy

India’s Got Latent Controversy: Samay Raina and Ranveer Allahbadia Appear Before Cyber Cell Over Legal Action Reports

⚠️ Trigger Warning: This article mentions topics like sexual assault and death threats.

The controversy around the show India’s Got Latent has once again made headlines. Back in February 2025, the show faced major backlash for allegedly sharing inappropriate content. Popular digital creators Ranveer Allahbadia, Samay Raina, Apoorva Mukhija, and Ashish Chanchlani were all linked to the issue.

Now, the latest update is that Samay Raina and Ranveer Allahbadia appeared before the Maharashtra Cyber Cell for questioning. This comes after reports suggested possible legal action against Ranveer and Apoorva for not cooperating earlier in the investigation.

As reported by Mid-Day, a Cyber Cell official said,

“The Maharashtra Cyber had summoned Samay Raina and Ranveer Allahbadia for the third time on Tuesday to record their statements. Both of them appeared and gave their statements.”

Earlier, a report from India TV mentioned that the Cyber Cell had called all four influencers—Samay, Ashish, Ranveer, and Apoorva—for questioning regarding the viral India’s Got Latent episode. However, only Samay Raina and Ashish Chanchlani had shown up. Due to this, the Cyber Police may now take legal steps against Ranveer and Apoorva for not cooperating with the authorities earlier.

The issue started after an episode of India’s Got Latent went viral. In that episode, Ranveer Allahbadia made a controversial comment that didn’t sit well with the public. Soon after, social media erupted with criticism, and several FIRs were filed.

Following the backlash, Ranveer and Apoorva shared that they started receiving death threats and abusive messages online. Apoorva even posted screenshots on Instagram showing the disturbing messages she got. These included serious threats of sexual assault and acid attacks. In her post, she said that the screenshots she shared were not even 1% of the total hate messages she received.
