Sana Makbul Opens Up About Her Health Struggles – Diagnosed with a Liver Disease Similar to Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s Condition

Bigg Boss OTT 3 winner Sana Makbul recently revealed that she has been battling a serious liver disease since 2020. In a heartfelt conversation on Bharti Singh and Haarsh Limbachiyaa’s podcast, Sana opened up about how her condition has affected her life.

Sana’s Health Struggles

Sana shared that she has autoimmune hepatitis, a disease where the body’s immune system attacks the liver. She explained, “I turned vegan recently for health reasons. Many people don’t know, but I am an autoimmune hepatitis patient. It was diagnosed in 2020, and it has no clear symptoms.”

She further explained that in autoimmune diseases, the body’s own cells attack different organs. In some cases, it affects the kidneys (Lupus) or joints (arthritis). Samantha Ruth Prabhu suffers from myositis, which affects the muscles, while Sana’s condition impacts her liver.

Managing the Condition

Despite the challenges, Sana remains strong and determined. She shared, “I take steroids, suppressants, and other medicines. It’s a lifestyle disorder, and with an autoimmune condition, liver diseases can be tricky. My health keeps fluctuating, and I don’t know if this can ever be fully cured.”

Apart from her physical health, Sana also spoke about the mental toll of her condition. She admitted that social media affects her, and she has tough days where she struggles emotionally.

Sana’s Career and Popularity

Sana Makbul, known for her roles in fictional and reality shows, has built a strong fan following. Her victory in Bigg Boss OTT 3 made her a household name, and she also gained popularity from her stint in Khatron Ke Khiladi 11.
