EXCLUSIVE BUZZ: Shah Rukh Khan to Start Shooting King on May 18; Cocktail 2 to Begin Filming in August
Big news for Bollywood fans! Shah Rukh Khan’s much-talked-about movie King is finally set to start filming on May 18 in Mumbai. Directed by Siddharth Anand, the film also stars Abhishek Bachchan, Suhana Khan, and Abhay Verma. Despite a lot of social media buzz about delays and casting rumors, Siddharth Anand has now cleared the air, and everything is on track.
A source shared, “The first schedule of King will begin in a Mumbai studio on May 18. After that, the team will shoot in the UAE and Europe.” The movie is described as a unique action thriller with Shah Rukh Khan playing a character with grey shades (a mix of good and bad). It is expected to release between October and December 2026.
There have been many rumors about cameo appearances in King, but as of now, no special appearances have been confirmed.
Along with King, another exciting project is also in the works. The sequel to Cocktail — titled Cocktail 2 — will go on floors in August 2025. This film will star Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon, and another lead actress. According to sources, Rashmika Mandanna is the top choice for that role.
Cocktail 2 is written by Luv Ranjan and will be directed by Homi Adajania. The makers are planning a mid-2026 release and are working on creating a hit music album for the film.
“Producer Dinesh Vijan believes this film, which mixes love, humor, and real-life conflict, will connect with the audience just like the first Cocktail did,” the source added.
Meanwhile, Shahid Kapoor is currently busy shooting Vishal Bhardwaj’s next film, which is being produced by Sajid Nadiadwala. That movie is expected to release in December 2025.
