On the 10th anniversary of Mahabharat, Shaheer Sheikh opened up about the challenges and emotions he faced while portraying the iconic character of Arjun. The role turned out to be a defining moment in his career, but it came with immense pressure.

During a recent discussion celebrating the show’s milestone, Shaheer recalled the emotional weight of taking on such a legendary role. “Playing Arjun was overwhelming,” he shared. “It wasn’t just about acting—it was about becoming a hero who represents strength, honor, and devotion. The expectations from fans who know and respect this character were enormous.”

An Emotional Launch Day
Shaheer admitted that the pressure peaked on the day Mahabharat premiered. “I remember locking myself in the bathroom with tears streaming down my face,” he said. “The emotions were too much—fear, hope, and the burden of living up to what Arjun means to so many people.”

Support from the Show’s Creator
Siddharth Kumar Tewary, the producer and creator of Mahabharat, also reflected on Shaheer’s struggle. “I could see the pressure he was under,” Siddharth said. “This was a massive role, and he was carrying the expectations of fans worldwide.”

The producer stepped in to comfort Shaheer during that difficult moment. “I hugged him and reminded him that we were in this together. It wasn’t just his journey; it was a collective effort. He wasn’t alone in this responsibility.”

Shaheer’s portrayal of Arjun went on to resonate deeply with audiences. His powerful performance made him synonymous with the legendary warrior, and even a decade later, fans still associate him with the role.

The show, which aired from 2013 to 2014, featured an ensemble cast, including Sourabh Raaj Jain, Pooja Sharma, Arpit Ranka, Shafaq Naaz, and Saurav Gurjar. Mahabharat remains a beloved and iconic series in Indian television history.
