Shark Tank India 4: Anupam Mittal Loses Cool at Pitchers, Calls it “Highest Form of Disrespect”

Shark Tank India 4: Namita Thapar and Anupam Mittal Clash; Anupam Loses Cool Over Pitchers’ Decision

The latest episode of Shark Tank India Season 4 was packed with drama when Sharks Anupam Mittal and Namita Thapar got into a heated argument during a pitch. The clash unfolded during a presentation by Rosha, a wireless lamp brand founded by childhood friends Kawardeep Singh, Gaurav Tikiya, and Shivam Diwan.

The Pitch That Sparked It All

The Rosha team showcased India’s first portable and rechargeable lighting brand, offering more than 100 designs. They also shared plans to expand into solar wireless lamps. Their pitch? Rs. 60 lakhs for 1% equity at a valuation of Rs. 60 crores. The entrepreneurs highlighted that half their products are manufactured in India and even shared endorsements from celebrities like Hrithik Roshan. They also recounted how Shark Aman Gupta’s mother had purchased one of their lamps.

The Sharks’ Offers

The Sharks appreciated the sleek product designs, but questions arose. Anupam Mittal pressed the entrepreneurs about their unique selling points and the focus on profitability in the B2B segment. Namita Thapar, however, was skeptical about their valuation and business strategy.

Anupam offered Rs. 60 lakhs for 3% equity with a 1.5% royalty on sales until he recovered 1.5 times his investment. He later teamed up with Ritesh Agarwal, increasing the equity ask to 4%. Meanwhile, Aman countered with Rs. 60 lakhs for 2% equity and a 1% royalty, which Anupam quickly matched.

Namita, however, chose to back out, calling the offers “exploitation.” Anupam fired back, saying, “Exploitation is when you sit on a tank and don’t give an offer.”

The Clash and Anupam’s Exit

The situation became tense when the Rosha team suggested Aman could take the deal solo. Anupam, visibly upset, declared, “I am out of this deal. Baar baar tum bol rahe ho respect, but you are coming back with an offer that Aman can do alone, which is the highest form of disrespect. Abhi tu free mein bhi de dega na equity, mereko nahi chahiye.” (You keep talking about respect, but you are coming back with an offer Aman can do alone, which is the highest form of disrespect. Even if you offer me equity for free now, I don’t want it.)

Eventually, Ritesh and Aman proposed Rs. 60 lakhs for 5% equity with a 2% royalty. After some back-and-forth, the pitchers finalized a deal with Aman and Ritesh, calling them their “dream team.”

Takeaway

This episode of Shark Tank India 4 highlighted not just the competition among the Sharks but also the intensity of their decision-making. With Namita and Anupam standing firm on their opinions, the Rosha team’s decision brought the drama to a memorable conclusion. Fans are eager to see what happens next as the season unfolds!
