Shark Tank India 4: Aman Gupta and Anupam Mittal Battle for Airth’s Innovative Pitch
The latest episode of Shark Tank India 4 brought intense negotiations as Aman Gupta and Anupam Mittal competed to secure a deal. The pitch came from Airth, a company that transforms regular ACs into air purifiers to combat air pollution. Founders Ravi Kaushik and Abhimanyu Kumar shared that the idea stemmed from Abhimanyu’s mother’s struggle with asthma, which made them realize the urgent need for clean air solutions.
A Promising Pitch
Airth’s device caught the Sharks’ attention for its unique design and potential to improve air quality. Ravi and Abhimanyu asked for an investment of ₹60 lakhs in exchange for 1% equity. Their presentation impressed Vineeta Singh, who became interested after learning how the device works.
Anupam Mittal offered ₹1 crore for 5% equity after reviewing the unit economics. Meanwhile, Vineeta Singh and Aman Gupta each offered ₹60 lakhs for 2% equity. However, Peyush Bansal and Varun Dua opted out, with Varun praising the founders for their honesty about their business.
Counteroffers and Tough Negotiations
After considering the offers, Ravi and Abhimanyu made a counteroffer, proposing ₹96 lakhs for 3% equity and involvement from all three Sharks. Anupam Mittal declined this and instead revised his offer to ₹2 crores for 5%. Vineeta and Aman also updated their offer to ₹96 lakhs for 4% equity.
Aman Gupta, co-founder and CMO of boAt, later offered ₹1 crore for 3.7% equity, stating firmly, “I cannot fight for 0.5%, or I’m out.”
The Final Deal
After intense negotiations, Ravi and Abhimanyu struck a deal with Aman Gupta and Vineeta Singh. Their innovative air purifier device secured the support it needed to grow and help tackle air pollution.
Stay tuned to see how Airth’s journey unfolds with this exciting partnership.
