Shark Tank India 4: Anupam Mittal’s Savage Comment to Namita Thapar Exposed!

Shark Tank India 4: Anupam Mittal Teases Namita Thapar, Says ‘Papa Ke Naam Pe Deal…’—Here’s Why

The latest episode of Shark Tank India 4 (February 14) featured an intense battle between Sharks Namita Thapar and Vineeta Singh as they both tried to secure a deal. Anupam Mittal also took a playful dig at Namita during the pitch.

The Pitch That Started It All

The first business to pitch was Green Day, an agricultural service brand focused on providing nutritious food. They work closely with farmers, teaching them how to grow crops using specially developed seeds. The founders asked for ₹60 lakh in exchange for 1% equity. While their idea impressed the Sharks, the real highlight was the competition between Namita and Vineeta.

Vineeta Calls the Pitcher Her Junior

One of the pitchers, Prateek, shared that he had done his MBA from IIM Ahmedabad. Vineeta, who also studied there, immediately asked about his batch and realized he was her junior. She jokingly said, “You’re like a kid compared to me! I’m from the 2007 batch.”

The couple also revealed that after their marriage, they spent two years living in a village to stay close to farmers and continue their research. Hearing this, Anupam Mittal joked that they must have had an extended honeymoon.

Kunal Bahl’s Honest Admission

Shark Kunal Bahl mentioned that he had met Prateek before when the company was still in its early days. At that time, he didn’t find it worth investing in, but now he praised Prateek, calling him “the best founder I’ve ever met.”

The Battle for the Deal

As other Sharks backed out, only Namita and Vineeta made offers:

  • Vineeta: ₹60 lakh for 2% equity, with no royalty.
  • Namita: ₹60 lakh for 1% equity, but with a 0.5% royalty until ₹60 lakh was recovered.

The founders took some time to think and then asked if both Sharks could join forces. While Vineeta was open to it, Namita preferred to go solo.

Anupam’s Funny Comment on Namita

When the pitchers mentioned, “Vineeta, you’re an alumnus and senior…” Namita quickly added, “My dad is also from IIM Ahmedabad!”

Hearing this, Anupam Mittal playfully teased her, saying, “So you’ll take deals using your father’s name too?” Namita laughed and responded, “I’ll take whatever I can!”

The Final Decision

In the end, the pitchers chose Namita Thapar’s offer, believing that her confidence in their company was exactly what they needed.
