Shark Tank India 4: Pitcher Lands Historic 5-Shark Deal After Season 2 Rejection

Shark Tank India 4: Ashutosh Roy Gets 5-Shark Deal After Season 2 Rejection, Shares Emotional Story

Shark Tank India 4 continues to give a platform to aspiring entrepreneurs, and the latest episode (February 12) featured an inspiring comeback story. Ashutosh Roy, who failed to get a deal in Season 2, returned with a new business and impressed the Sharks so much that they offered him a 5-Shark deal.

Ashutosh Roy’s Unique Pitch Stuns the Sharks

Ashutosh, the founder of Offmint, a high-fashion brand, made a bold move by asking the Sharks for just Rs. 10 for 1% equity, leaving them shocked. He explained that his experience in Season 2 changed his life. At that time, he had pitched with another brand’s founder but walked away without a deal.

While Namita Thapar and Aman Gupta didn’t recognize him at first, Vineeta Singh remembered him. Back then, the Sharks had encouraged him to fight for his rights and secure equity in the brand. After leaving Shark Tank India 2 empty-handed, Ashutosh decided to start his own brand instead.

The Emotional Story That Moved the Sharks

When Anupam Mittal asked about his journey, Ashutosh shared an emotional moment—he lost his father on the same day he appeared on Shark Tank India 2. He said that this tragedy became a turning point in his life, as he had to take full responsibility for his family.

Hearing this, the Sharks were deeply moved. Aman Gupta even got goosebumps listening to his story.

Ashutosh Roy Finally Secures a 5-Shark Deal

Ashutosh revealed that his brand’s co-founder, Rani Ahluwalia, had already invested Rs. 5 Crore into the business. While he had enough funds, he needed the Sharks’ expertise, which is why he only asked for Rs. 10.

While Namita Thapar was ready to go ahead with a 5-Shark deal, Anupam Mittal had some doubts. After questioning him about his brand’s USP and growth strategy, he finally agreed to invest.

In the end, Ashutosh secured Rs. 10 lakhs for 4% equity from all five Sharks—Anupam Mittal, Aman Gupta, Vineeta Singh, Peyush Bansal, and Namita Thapar.

His inspiring journey from rejection to success proves that determination and hard work always pay off!
