Shekhar Suman Reacts Strongly to India’s Got Latent Controversy
The controversy surrounding India’s Got Latent has caused a major backlash across the country. Many people, including celebrities, have criticized the inappropriate content shown on the show. Ranveer Allahbadia, Samay Raina, Apoorva Mukhija, Ashish Chanchlani, and others involved in the show are facing legal trouble.
Veteran actor Shekhar Suman has also reacted to this controversy. He condemned the show and even urged the government to ban it.
Shekhar Suman’s Strong Words
Speaking at an event with Instant Bollywood, Shekhar Suman said,
“In today’s world, where such dirty jokes are being made about parents, these people should be thrown out of the country. They don’t deserve to live here.”
He further criticized the creators for misusing freedom of speech and added,
“People are doing vulgar things in the name of ‘roast’ and using YouTube’s freedom of speech as an excuse. But freedom of speech doesn’t mean you fill it with abuses and filth that makes the whole country sick.”
Shekhar urged the government to take strict action against the show, saying,
“I request the government to shut down this show permanently and send these people far away.”
What Led to the Controversy?
The India’s Got Latent controversy started in February 2025 after Ranveer Allahbadia made a highly offensive comment. During an episode, he asked a contestant,
“Would you rather watch your parents having sx or join in once to stop it forever?”*
This statement sparked massive outrage, and people across the country demanded action. FIRs were filed against Ranveer Allahbadia in Assam, Maharashtra, and Jaipur.
It wasn’t just Ranveer; other creators like Apoorva Mukhija (The Rebel Kid), Samay Raina, and Ashish Chanchlani also faced legal trouble. After facing backlash, Samay Raina deleted all episodes of India’s Got Latent from YouTube.
Legal Proceedings Still Ongoing
The case is still under investigation, and the legal proceedings are continuing. Whether the show will be banned permanently remains to be seen.
