CID, one of the most loved and longest-running shows on Indian TV, made a grand comeback in 2025 after a gap of 6 years. Starring Shivaji Satam, Dayanand Shetty, and Aditya Srivastava, the show has returned not only on Sony TV but also premiered on Netflix. While fans love the suspenseful cases and thrilling episodes, many don’t know that CID once achieved a Guinness World Record!
The Guinness World Record
In an exclusive interview with Pinkvilla, Shivaji Satam (ACP Pradyuman), along with Dayanand and Aditya, talked about a very special moment from 2004. The team had filmed an episode called “The Inheritance”, which was done in a single continuous shot. The episode was 111 minutes long — that’s almost two hours without a break in the camera!
Shivaji shared,
“There were more than 170 people present when we shot that episode. We all worked together to make this record happen. We feel proud that we could bring this achievement for India.”

Shivaji Satam expressed how this record is not just a personal achievement but something the whole country can be proud of. Dayanand Shetty also praised the hard work of the director and cameraman, as they managed to shoot the episode across four floors in one go. He called it the biggest achievement in CID’s journey.

In the same interview, the three stars also shared fun and emotional stories from the sets. They even revealed a few dangerous stunt experiences where they had close calls while filming action scenes.
CID’s Comeback
For those who didn’t know, Pinkvilla was the first to report that CID would begin shooting again in Mumbai in November 2024. The show originally ended on October 27, 2018, after 20 years on air — making it one of India’s longest-running TV shows.
CID made its big return on December 21, 2024, and now airs every Saturday and Sunday at 10 PM on Sony TV.
