Excitement is building for the new season of Bade Achhe Lagte Hain, especially with popular stars Shivangi Joshi and Harshad Chopda joining hands for the show. As fans eagerly wait for its release, Shivangi revealed something surprising—she has gone through a big physical transformation just for her role.
Shivangi Joshi Talks About Gaining Weight for the Show
In a recent media interaction during a photoshoot where the duo was dressed as Bhagyashree, Shivangi opened up about her journey for this character. Speaking with Aaj Tak’s Saas Bahu Aur Betiyaan, Shivangi and Harshad talked about how this season will be different and interesting.
Shivangi’s character, Bhagyashree, is a Tamilian woman, while Harshad plays Rishabh, a Punjabi man. The contrast in cultures will bring a unique twist to the story.
To truly look the part, Shivangi shared that she gained 8 kilos for the show.
She said, “I had to eat a lot. I was told to gain weight, so I did—8 kgs in total. Honestly, it took a lot of effort just to keep eating so much.”
When asked whether it’s harder to gain or lose weight, Shivangi said both are tough. Harshad joked that people often tease him for not being able to gain weight. Shivangi laughed and added that Harshad eats a lot of junk food on set, while she’s now completely tired of eating and doesn’t want to eat anymore.
Learning the Language and Playing a Tamilian
Shivangi didn’t just change her body for the role—she also worked hard on learning the Tamil language, as her character speaks Tamil with her family in the show. She wanted to make her role feel as real as possible.
A Cute Twist: Bhagyashree’s Pet Dog
There’s also a cute element in the show! Bhagyashree will have a pet dog named Kaddu, who will act as a cupid between her and Rishabh. This sweet dog will play a key role in bringing the two characters closer.

The makers have not yet announced the official release date for the new season of Bade Achhe Lagte Hain, but with such a fresh storyline and the effort put in by the actors, fans have a lot to look forward to.
