Shweta Tiwari Gets Relief After 4 Years as Mumbai Police Closes Forgery Case Filed by Her Ex-Husband Abhinav Kohli
Shweta Tiwari has received relief after the Mumbai Police informed the Bombay High Court that the forgery case filed against her by her ex-husband Abhinav Kohli in 2021 has been closed.
The court gave Shweta Tiwari permission to withdraw her legal petition, which had asked for the cancellation of the First Information Report (FIR) filed against her by the Bandra Kurla police.
According to the Free Press Journal, the Mumbai Police submitted an ‘A’ Summary report to the court on December 17, 2024. This report explained that while the case against Shweta appeared to have some credibility, there was not enough evidence to support the claims.
An ‘A’ Summary report is filed when a case seems valid but lacks solid evidence to prove the accusations. The court allowed Shweta’s petition to be withdrawn, but it also mentioned that both parties could still take legal action if needed.
In 2021, Abhinav Kohli had filed a complaint against Shweta Tiwari, claiming that she had forced his signature on a No Objection Certificate to get a visa for their son, Reyansh, to travel to the UK. Kohli also said that Shweta contacted the UK embassy in India, which led to the visa being canceled.
Shweta and Abhinav married in 2013 after dating for four years, but they separated in 2019. Their son Reyansh lives with Shweta. Before Abhinav, Shweta was married to Raja Chaudhary, with whom she has a daughter, Palak Tiwari.
