Sophie Turner Wants to Outshine Angelina Jolie’s Lara Croft in the New Tomb Raider Series
Sophie Turner is getting ready to play Lara Croft in a new Tomb Raider series that will stream online. The series is a new version of the 2001 film that originally starred Angelina Jolie. According to sources, Sophie is working very hard and going through intense training to prepare for the role.
A source told Life & Style that Sophie already has plenty of experience with action scenes because of her past work in Game of Thrones and the X-Men movies. She’s used to doing stunts, wearing heavy costumes, and acting in tough situations.
The insider shared, “Sophie is fully committed to her training for this role. She already knows how to handle screen fights and special effects, but she’s pushing herself even more to get into top shape and sharpen her skills.”
The upcoming series, Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, is being led by Fleabag star Phoebe Waller-Bridge. Phoebe is not only producing the show but also writing the script.
The original Lara Croft movie was a huge hit with both fans and critics. Angelina Jolie, who played Lara back then, had once said it was an exciting adventure to be part of such an action-packed film.
One interesting detail is that Sophie Turner will be the first English actress to play Lara Croft in a live-action version of the story. A source added, “That’s a big deal, and Sophie knows it gives her something special that Angelina Jolie and Alicia Vikander didn’t have.”
More updates about the new Tomb Raider series are expected to be shared by the creators soon. Stay tuned!
