EXCLUSIVE: Sunny Deol Talks About Salman Khan’s Close Bond with Him and Dharmendra — ‘It’s Been There Since Before We Started Acting’
In an exclusive chat with Pinkvilla, actor Sunny Deol opened up about his strong friendship with Salman Khan and Salman’s close bond with his father, Dharmendra. The Jaat actor revealed that this connection goes way back—before any of them even began their acting careers.
Sunny was part of Pinkvilla’s Masterclass, where he looked back at some old photos and shared memories. One of the pictures shown was from the reality show Bigg Boss, where Sunny and Salman were seen doing the famous “Dabangg” dance step together.
Talking about the moment, Sunny said, “This was from Bigg Boss. That time, they made me do Salman’s signature steps, and Salman did some of mine. It was fun—we were just copying each other.”
When asked about his bond with Salman, Sunny replied, “Salman and I share a very special connection. It’s been there for years—way before we started acting. Some friendships are just natural, and there’s a lot of love between us.”
Speaking about Salman’s relationship with his father, Dharmendra, Sunny said, “He is very close to my dad. He even jokes and says, ‘Main papa ka beta hoon’ (I’m Papa’s son). He’s close to all of us—me, Bobby (Deol), and Dad.”

In the same interview, Sunny also talked about the possibility of working again with Shah Rukh Khan. When asked who he’d like to do a two-hero film with, Sunny said, “I’ve done only one film with Shah Rukh. So yes, we can do another.”
He added, “That was a different time, and now it’s a different phase, so why not?”
Meanwhile, Sunny Deol is all set for the release of his upcoming action thriller Jaat, which will hit cinemas on April 10, 2025.
