Palak Sindhwani has officially left Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah and will no longer be seen playing the role of Sonu. While she is currently involved in a legal case against the show’s makers, the team has already found her replacement. According to recent reports, Khushi Mali has been cast as the new Sonu. She was last seen in Sajha Sindoor and is now ready to take on the role of Sonu alongside the other actors in the show.
In an interview with Etimes, producer Asit Kumarr Modi spoke about bringing Khushi Mali on board to replace Palak Sindhwani. He highlighted how important Sonu’s character is to Tapu Sena and how she brings warmth to the show. Asit expressed hope that the audience will accept Khushi, saying, “We are excited to welcome Khushi and will fully support her as she brings this character to life. We hope our audience will show her the same love they’ve shown to the show and its characters for the past 16 years.”
The producer also mentioned that choosing Khushi for the role of Sonu was a careful decision, as she embodies the character’s traits perfectly. Khushi, excited to join the cast, shared that portraying Sonu would be an interesting challenge for her. She called it a blessing to be part of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah and sees it as a great opportunity.
On the other hand, the legal dispute between Palak Sindhwani and the show’s makers has attracted significant media attention. The production team sent Palak a legal notice, claiming she breached her contract. In response, Palak accused them of mental harassment and not paying her dues worth Rs 21 lakh. She explained that when she informed them about leaving the show, they accused her of breaking the contract. Palak also shared that her health concerns were ignored, and she even experienced panic attacks on set.
Despite the controversy, Palak took to social media to announce her departure from Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah and shared some unseen photos with her co-stars.
