Bhavya Gandhi Talks About Staying in Touch with Jheel Mehta and Kush Shah
In an interview with Pinkvilla, Bhavya Gandhi, who is best known for playing Tapu in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah for over 8 years, shared whether he still talks to his former co-stars Jheel Mehta (the original Sonu) and Kush Shah (Goli). Bhavya is now preparing for his new role as a villain in the show Pushpa Impossible.
When asked if he stays connected with Jheel and Kush, Bhavya said, “Yes, I still talk to them. We have a good bond. Jheel recently got engaged, and I’m really happy for her. I also stay in touch with Kush.”
Bhavya left Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah in 2017, while Jheel left back in 2012. Jheel recently got engaged to her fiancé, Aditya Dube, and they are set to get married soon. Kush Shah, who played Goli, left the show after 16 years to focus on his studies.
Currently, Nitish Bhaluni plays Tapu, Palak Sindhwani plays Sonu, and Dharmit Turakhiya has taken over the role of Goli. While fans enjoy watching the new characters, they still miss the original Tapu Sena, which included Bhavya, Jheel, and Kush.
Bhavya also revealed that while recovering from an injury, he watched old episodes of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. He expressed his excitement about returning to TV with Pushpa Impossible.
When asked about why it took so long for his return to TV, Bhavya explained, “I was never really gone, but my new role in Pushpa Impossible is very different from Tapu. I don’t want to erase the image of Tapu from people’s minds, but I want to try different roles. After Tapu, I kept getting similar roles, so I didn’t take them up.”
