The Kapil Sharma Show S2 Review: Sunil Grover’s Epic SRK Impression

The Great Indian Kapil Show Season 2 REVIEW: Sunil Grover as ‘Natural’ Shah Rukh Khan Makes Saturday a ‘Funnyvaar’

If you’re unsure whether to watch The Great Indian Kapil Show Season 2 or skip it, here’s an easy-to-understand review to help you decide!

Plot:
The show continues from where the first season left off, set in a cozy cafe at an airport. The set is more stylish than ever and feels very warm and welcoming. Just like before, Netflix has put a lot of effort into making this show, and it’s clear they want it to be popular worldwide, reaching audiences in 192 countries. At Kap’s cafe, the team serves you a mix of spicy gossip, funny facts, and jokes that are fresh and entertaining.

For the first episode, the guests are stars from the movie “Jigra,” including Alia Bhatt, Vedang Raina, Karan Johar, and director Vasan Bala. But the real star of the episode is Sunil Grover, who plays the role of Ranbir Kapoor’s ex, Dafli, reminding us of his famous character Gutthi. His interaction with Alia Bhatt is definitely the highlight of the episode, but whether it’s enough to get everyone to watch the whole show is a bit uncertain.

This episode gives us glimpses of Alia Bhatt’s life as a mother to Raha, wife to Ranbir Kapoor, and an actress. Karan Johar shares some never-heard-before moments about celebrities, while Vedang Raina and Vasan Bala also add interesting details to the conversation.

What Works:
It’s a real treat to see Kapil Sharma and his team back with their funny acts. Kiku Sharda and Krushna Abhishek do amazing parodies of popular Bollywood characters, making everyone laugh, including Alia Bhatt. Kiku’s act is so good that it might just make you look forward to the next episode!

The funniest part is when the guests play the whisper challenge. Watching them trying to guess words while wearing headphones is really entertaining. Kapil Sharma also brings fresh jokes, steering away from old married-life jokes, and talks about different topics like Indian weddings, markets, and the legacies of kings.

What Doesn’t Work:
Kapil Sharma’s usual jokes about Archana Puran Singh are getting a bit repetitive. Also, while we know promotions are part of shows on streaming platforms, the heavy Netflix promotion in this season feels like an unskippable ad. Some segments are very funny, but they seem to go on a bit too long, making them less entertaining over time.

The show tries to stand out by being family-friendly and avoiding controversial topics, but sometimes the humor feels a bit too predictable.

Performances:
Sunil Grover as Dafli is very entertaining, especially when he acts as Shah Rukh Khan’s character from “Dear Zindagi.” He’s not just funny – he’s incredibly natural in this role. Krushna Abhishek as Safeena and Kiku Sharda as Gangubai also do a fantastic job. However, Rajiv Thakur doesn’t get much screen time, which is disappointing because we know he has great comedic talent.

Final Verdict:
If you need a break and want to laugh, The Great Indian Kapil Show Season 2 is definitely for you!
