EXCLUSIVE: Varun Dhawan and Dinesh Vijan Plan Mythological Horror Film Before Bhediya 2; Two More Scripts in Talks
Varun Dhawan and producer Dinesh Vijan have previously worked together on films like Badlapur and Bhediya. Varun also made special appearances in Munjya and Stree 2, both produced by Vijan’s Maddock Films. Now, the duo is looking to team up again—possibly even before Bhediya 2 begins shooting.
A Unique Mythological Horror Film in the Works
A source close to the team shared, “Varun and Dinesh are definitely doing Bhediya 2, but there’s a delay in its shooting schedule. So before that, they’re talking about doing a mythological horror film. It will also have a touch of comedy.”
This new film will not be connected to Maddock’s existing horror-comedy universe (like Stree or Bhediya) and it won’t be a sequel. Instead, it’s planned as a standalone film with a fresh storyline and characters.
More Projects Being Discussed
The source also revealed that this isn’t the only project Varun and Dinesh are talking about. “They’re also considering two more scripts, but the mythological horror film is currently the top choice for their next movie together. Talks are still in the early stage, and more details should be confirmed by July,” said the insider. The lead actress for the project hasn’t been finalized yet.
Varun Dhawan’s Busy Schedule
Right now, Varun is filming Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai, which is directed by his father David Dhawan. After that, he will complete his parts for Border 2, co-starring Sunny Deol, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahan Shetty. He is also part of No Entry 2, directed by Anees Bazmee.
On top of that, Varun will make a special appearance as Bhediya again in Thama, the next film in Maddock’s horror-comedy universe, set to release on Diwali 2025.
