Vir Das Becomes First Indian to Host International Emmy Awards; Sumona Chakravarti Reacts
Stand-up comedian and actor Vir Das will be making history as the first Indian to host the 2024 International Emmy Awards. He shared the exciting news with his fans on Instagram, where many celebrities, including Sumona Chakravarti, expressed their joy and congratulations.
On September 12, Vir Das posted a picture of himself along with a news article about him hosting the awards. Sumona Chakravarti, who is currently on Khatron Ke Khiladi 14, reacted with excitement, writing, “Oh my my my… This is INSANEEEE! Too good.”
In addition to Sumona, other stars like Hrithik Roshan, Dia Mirza, and many more from Bollywood also left heartfelt messages congratulating him.
For those who don’t know, Vir Das was previously nominated for an Emmy in 2021 for his stand-up special Vir Das: For India, and he won an award in 2023 for his special Landing. He is currently on his Mind Fool international tour after completing performances in India.
Besides his stand-up shows, Vir Das has also created and starred in TV series like Whiskey Cavalier on ABC, Hasmukh on Netflix, and Jestination Unknown on Amazon. He has also acted in Bollywood films like Delhi Belly, Go Goa Gone, and Badmaash Company. His latest role was in Call Me Bae with Ananya Panday.
Meanwhile, Sumona Chakravarti, a well-known TV personality, is currently appearing on Khatron Ke Khiladi 14. She has also been part of hit TV shows like Bade Achhe Lagte Hain, Ek Thhi Naayka, and Jamai Raja. In Bollywood, she has acted in films like Barfi!, Kick, and Mann. After finishing her time on The Kapil Sharma Show, Sumona took a break and traveled to Norway.
