Zeenat Aman Talks About Working with Rishi Kapoor and a Funny Moment on Set
Veteran actress Zeenat Aman has been sharing old memories from her film career on Instagram. In one of her recent posts, she talked about her only time working with late actor Rishi Kapoor and shared a funny story from the shoot of their film Hum Kisise Kum Naheen.
Zeenat and Rishi Worked Together Only Once
Zeenat and Rishi Kapoor acted together just once in their careers. It was for the 1977 film Hum Kisise Kum Naheen, directed by Nasir Hussain. Even though both stars were very popular at the time, they didn’t get many chances to work or interact with each other.
Sharing a video clip from the film, Zeenat wrote about her short role in the movie, which included a musical Qawwali scene and a romantic moment with Rishi, whom she fondly called “Chintu ji.”
She Had the Least Interaction with Rishi Kapoor
Zeenat wrote,
“Of all the men I worked with from the Kapoor family, I had the least interaction with Rishi — both professionally and socially. We only worked together in that one song.”
She also mentioned that this was the only Qawwali performance of her entire career.
Funny Moment: Making Rishi Kapoor Look Taller
Zeenat, known for her tall height, revealed that her height often created issues for directors who didn’t want the actress to look taller than the male lead. This became a concern during her scene with Rishi Kapoor.
She recalled with a laugh,
“Chintu ji and I were shooting a flirty scene on a brown leather couch. But while sitting, the height difference became more obvious. To fix it, Nasir Saab placed one — then two — cushions under him so he would appear taller than me!”
Why She Was in the Film
Zeenat also shared that director Nasir Hussain had worked with her earlier in the hit film Yaadon Ki Baaraat, and considered her lucky. He asked her to make a special appearance in Hum Kisise Kum Naheen, and she agreed — not knowing it would lead to such a fun and unforgettable moment on set.
