Kaun Banega Crorepati season 16, hosted by Amitabh Bachchan, continues to win the hearts of viewers. In the September 6 episode, contestant Shobhika Shree took the hot seat. She started confidently but was unable to answer a crucial Rs 6.4 lakh question related to Qutab Minar.
Shobhika, who hails from the Andaman and Nicobar Islands and currently works in Delhi for the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, faced a question worth Rs 40,000 about the Qutab Minar. Despite using her last lifeline, the ‘Audience Poll,’ the majority of the audience chose the wrong answer. As a result, Shobhika lost the chance to win Rs 6.4 lakh and went home with Rs 3.2 lakh instead.
The question Amitabh Bachchan asked was, “Who among these repaired the Qutab Minar, according to the inscriptions on its surface?”
The options were:
A. Sikandar Lodi
B. Khizr Khan
C. Akbar
D. Mohammad Bin Tughlaq
The correct answer was Sikandar Lodi. Bachchan explained, “According to the inscriptions on the Qutab Minar, it was repaired by Firoz Shah Tughlaq and Sikandar Lodi. Sikandar Lodi carried out the repairs in the 16th century.”
During the episode, Shobhika shared that she lives away from her family in Delhi due to her job. When Bachchan asked about her role, she explained that she is a medical officer at the National Organ and Tissue Transplant Organization (NOTO). She also mentioned that they knew Bachchan had pledged to donate his organs, which she found inspiring. Amitabh confirmed this, and she noted that his pledge serves as a great example for others.
Kaun Banega Crorepati season 16, which combines knowledge with inspiration, offers life-changing cash prizes. The show premiered on Sony TV on August 12, with new episodes airing Monday to Friday at 9 PM and available on Sony LIV.
