What Happened?
Gaurav’s dessert quickly went viral on social media. While many praised it, some users claimed that the dessert was not original and looked very similar to one made earlier by a Swiss chef named Dives Josh.
This led to a controversy, with people saying Gaurav copied the concept. Later, Dives Josh shared a photo of his own dessert on Instagram, called it “original,” and reposted the promo from the show. He added laughing emojis and wrote sarcastically, “Well done, so creative…”
Vikas Khanna’s Response
Reacting to the backlash, Vikas Khanna posted a photo of Gaurav’s dessert on his Instagram story. He supported Gaurav and responded strongly to the criticism.
Vikas wrote:
“For all those who are commenting on the brilliant dish made by @gauravkhannaofficial — please tell me which chef created it first in the world. Meringue dripping cones have been around for decades. What impressed us was the overall flavour and presentation, which truly stood out.”

Celebrity MasterChef started on January 27, 2025, and airs every Monday to Friday at 8 PM. The top 5 finalists now competing for the title are:
